Villa Sturchi

Villa Sturchi is set in a very peaceful location on the side of a hill with fantastic views over the surrounding Tuscan countryside, and both the Etruscan Town of Cacciano and the Medieval town of Civitella in Val di Chiana. This lovely spacious villa has two floors with four bedrooms and is very comfortably furnished.
A short walk through a large olive grove which provides complete privacy takes you to the large swimming pool which is shared with another smaller property, Casa Sturchi, within the estate. Relaxing by the pool you are surrounded by olive and cypress trees and have fantastic views of the forested hillside and the valley below which is dotted with Tuscan villages.
Outside the villa is set in beautiful grounds planted with Mediterranean trees and shrubs and surrounded by olive groves. The large outside covered terrace with its flourishing grape vine has a stone table which is perfect for outdoor entertaining. Located behind the pool is a full size tennis court which also has a basketball net.
The main entrance to the villa leads directly into the dining room, which has the traditional wooden dining table and chairs with a matching dresser. From this room internal stairs lead down to the lower floor bedrooms. A door to the left of the dining room takes you into the kitchen, which has a high beamed ceiling and terracotta tiled floors.
This is a very airy room with large glass doors that open onto the outside terrace. There are fitted units along two walls with built in eye level oven, dishwasher, separate gas hobs, microwave oven and large fridge/freezer.
To the right of the dining room is the family room which has two sofa beds. From here there is a door into a bedroom with double bed and an ensuite shower room.
A further door takes you into the spacious lounge, which has been comfortably furnished with two seating areas, one arranged in front of the brick built open fireplace, the other arranged for viewing the TV/DVD. There are bookshelves arranged along one wall with plenty of books to read and there are tables and chairs which can be used for playing games or cards.
The lower floor can be accessed either from a separate external entrance or internally from the dining room. Downstairs there is an impressive master bedroom suite which has its own bathroom with shower a small sitting room with a large wardrobe and sofa, an archway takes you through to the bedroom which has a king size bed.
There are a further two bedrooms on the lower floor one with a double bed which is accessed through another bedroom with bunk beds.These two bedrooms are separated by a shared bathroom with shower, and would be perfect for a family to share.
Set in a wonderful location this villa would be perfect for large families or groups wishing to holiday together but still have their own privacy.
At the property there is a basket ball hoop, ping pong table and tennis court.
A basketball, ping pong balls and rackets are provided. You must bring your own tennis balls and rackets.

Pool Info
The large shared swimming pool has a paved surround furnished with sun loungers tables and parasols. You can also relax in one of the several hammocks hung in the olive trees next to the pool. At one end of the pool is a covered gazebo which provides shade for a table tennis table.
The swimming pool measures 14 metres by 7 metres and has internal steps leading down into the refreshing water at one end and ladder access at the other. The maximum depth is 1.5 metres. The pool is open from mid May until mid October. Pool towels are provided.
Nearest town
The closest village for shopping is Pieve a Presciano where there is a shop and restaurant. This village is approximately 7km away. Closer to the villa there is a good restaurant which is 3km away, the restaurant is called Dei Laghi. At Badia Agnano, 4km away, there is a grocery shop. Larger towns in the area are Montevarchi and Arezzo.

Avez vous eu de mauvaises surprises? Non pas de mauvaises surprises. Juste un reproche sur l'accès à la villa pour une voiture de tourisme, des passages un peu compliqués.
Avez vous d'autres commentaires? pour trouver facilement la villa il serait intéressant de connaitre la latitude et longitude de l'emplacement.

What were the highlights of your holiday? Spending time at the villa - although unfortunately we were not able to spend as much time as we wanted since we were out daily exploring the area.
Enjoying the wonderful scenery and dining outside or inside and spending time with our friends, cooking and talking.
What was your overall impression of the accommodation? Excellent. The villa and the grounds were well kept. Everything was clean. The place was bigger than what we thought it would be. It also had a lot of things we needed already.

Do you have any other comments regarding the accommodation or service? Paola and especially the villa caretaker Balthazar were so helpful in helping us find local grocers to shop at and to be available all the time if we needed anything. Truly an amazing experience, thank you! We are already planning our next trip back!

Gab es unangenehme Überraschungen? Schade war nur,das man sehr einsam war und nichts zu Fuß machen konnte.

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
