Villa Albizi

Originally a 16th century palace, Villa Albizi has been recently refurbished to a very high standard, retaining many of the original features. The villa is arranged over three floors and has seven double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. This elegant villa is set in the historic hamlet of Montefienali, which was once a staging post on the road into the Chianti region.
There is a private pool with a separate Jacuzzi set in the large gardens; the paved surround is a mixture of grassed and paved areas furnished with sun loungers, tables and umbrellas. Relaxing by the pool you have a fantastic view over the tree lined valley below. This lovely villa has plenty of space inside and out and would be perfect for large family groups or friends wishing to holiday together.
The entrance opens into the ground floor where there is a well equipped kitchen with oven, hobs, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave oven. There is a small lounge bar with sofas and a sitting area with Satellite TV and DVD player.
Villa Albizi was originally built to serve as a hotel to the hamlet and its kitchen facilities were installed to be used by a professional chef. The kitchen machines such as the hobs, the oven and the dishwasher are therefore likely to be different to those found in a regular home. You will be familiarised with the appliances by the local property management company after your arrival to the Villa.

The large dining room leads out onto a furnished terrace with dining table, chairs and a barbecue. This is a stunning place to dine or relax as it has panoramic views over the Tuscan countryside.
There are two bedrooms located on the ground floor both of which have direct access out to the gardens.
Outside the attractive gardens are set on two levels, and have been planted with Mediterranean trees and shrubs. There are four terraced areas to sit and relax in each with fantastic views. In addition to the swimming pool and Jacuzzi, guests also have the use of a solarium and a sauna. For younger children there is also a small children’s playground located in Montefienali hamlet.
The first floor has a quiet reading room furnished with tables and chairs and an open fireplace. This floor has three double bedrooms each with their own bathrooms, one of which also has direct access to the gardens.
The second and final floor has a further two double bedrooms, again both have their own bathrooms; one with a whirlpool bath, the second has a bath with shower.
All the seven bedrooms have great views from their windows, either over the gardens, the hamlet or the stunning countryside.
Every Sunday during July and August there is music and dancing at Monteluco, with is 4km away from the hamlet of Montefienali.
Villa Albizi is arranged over three floors and has seven double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom.
A private pool with is set in the large gardens as well as a sauna.
The sauna electric consumption are charged by consumption.
There is a separate counter installed for this.

The large private pool has a surround of grassed and paved areas furnished with sun loungers, tables and umbrellas.Relaxing by the pool you have a fantastic view over the tree lined valley below.
The large pool measures 15 metres by 5 metres and is a single Roman ended shape with internal steps leading down into the cooling water. The pool is open from April to October.
Nearest town
The nearest restaurant is 5km in the village Strada, and the nearest village for shopping is 12km in San Gusme' while the Chianti towns of Gaiole and Radda are 15km and 22km respectively.

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
