Paradiso is a typical trullo just under 3km from Ostuni, a hill top, pretty white washed town in Puglia (the heel of Italy). This trullo is actually made up of three of the traditional rounded houses, all attached to form a larger property, with a small extension for the kitchen.
There is total privacy in the extensive, terraced gardens down to the large olive grove. The garden is bordered by a dry stone wall and is ideal for relaxing while enjoying the extensive views of the countryside down to the Adriatic coast. It is furnished with table, chairs and a barbeque for dining al fresco in the warm evenings of Puglia. There is also a pizza oven outside. There is also access to the roof top from where you have breathtaking views.
You enter this fantastic property into the kitchen. This is a comfortable room with a central wooden table for dining indoors. To one side of the room is the kitchen unit with fridge/freezer, small oven and gas hobs. The entrance door provides the room with light. There is a bathroom with shower off the kitchen.
Continuing through to the next room you find yourself in the first trullo with it's characteristic whitewashed stone walls and rounded ceiling. This small room has a comfortable double sofabed and a fireplace.
Passing under an arch you enter the next trullo, which has an external door providing the entire property with plenty of light. There is a wardrobe and wooden table and chairs in this room.
From this central trullo there is access to the third trullo which houses the sleeping area. This room has a small double bed (140x190cm) with cupboard space built into the walls.
An important characteristic of the trullo is the lack of window and rounded effect which keeps the summer heat out, all light is cleverly provided by the stratigically positioned doors. Through out the property there are no doors between the rooms, providing a open plan effect with curtains used between the various rooms. The bathroom has a door.
Excellent for couples in Spring, Summer or Autumn.
The nearest beach is 6km away and there is a choice of sandy or rocky beaches.
There are mosquito screens on all windows/doors.
The property is surrounded by century old olive trees which are becoming part of a UNESCO heritage site.

Ostuni is located just 2.5km away and has a host of bars and restaurants to enjoy the local atmosphere. The local people are very hospitable and will make you feel at home. Ostuni also has other amenities such as pharmacy, doctor, banks and post office. This is a very characteristic medieval town is famous for its white washed buildings.

Did you have any unpleasant surprises? Yes the cost of meals in the nearest town Ostuni
Do you have any other comments? There should be better discription of the beaches between Ostuni port and Monopoli. There are some very nice clean and well run beaches in this area all called Lidos with water sports available. All the surermarkets in the area were excellent and very favorable priced

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
