Siena at Palazzina di Murlo

Siena is the first cottage found on the property. It is independent
but attached to its nieghbour The Suite by a typical arch which leads
into an open room where some tools are kept. From Siena there are
pretty views of the city in the far distance.
To one side of the villa is a protected terrace which has full sun during the day. It has a table with chairs and an umbrella. From here there are excellent views over the surrounding fields and onto the Crete in the distance.
On entering Siena, there is a tiny hall which then leads onto the
luminous kitchen. The kitchen is stone built with modern wooden doors.
It is fully equipped with gas hobs, oven, microwave, dishwasher and
large fridge with freezer.
Off the kitchen passing under a terracotta arch is a narrow room which
is furnished with a table that opens out to seat 4 people. And a large
sofa which can seat 4 people but comfortably seats 3 people. In front
of the sofa is a working fireplace which can be used as a bbq.
Completing the ground floor is a bathroom with shower.
Wide stairs lead to the first floor where there is a spacious double
bedroom with a large wooden bed. A wardrobe runs along the full length
of one wall. From the windows there are wide open views of the Tuscan
countryside. In the room is an air-conditioning unit for the hotter
nights.
Next to the double bedroom is a bathroom with a tub that has a shower
fitting on the wall, however there is no curtain. The second bedroom
is a small room with bunk beds, although they are full size single
beds they are best suited for children. In this room there is a large
wardrobe and an air-conditioning unit. The views from the Juliette
window are of the central courtyard.
The owners are available on the property to assist with information and queries.

Palazzina di Murlo is a lovely typical Tuscan country farm, immersed in the rolling Tuscan hills with views of Siena and the Crete, just 4km from Casciano di Murlo. It's composed of a large main building with 4 apartments inside it, 3 individual cottages and the owner's residence.
On one side of the property there is a large infinity pool surrounded by sun-beds, umbrellas and great views. Next to this is a covered loggia with a large table.
The well maintained land around the pool is terraced down to a large field ideal for children to play. On one side is a large bbq that guests can use.
The gardens of the property are slightly sloped with paths paved in gravel. All around are lovely flower beds providing plenty of colour.
The entire property is fenced, however there is an open gate to the car park. There is a road passing the property but it is not a main route and is used occasionally. Some noise may be heard if a vehicle is passing.
The owners are on the property and are available to assist with any queries.

Pool Info
The pool is located above the apartments, near the owner's residence.
It's surrounded by a large terracotta sun deck and has roman steps to
enter. To one side is a large covered loggia with a table and chairs.
A row of sun-beds and umbrellas provide a wonderful area to relax
while admiring the views across the pool and fields of the property
onto the forest covered Tuscan hills beyond.
The pool is an irregular shape, it's 19x7 metres, and 1-2 metres deep. It is open from May to October.

Casciano di Murlo is the nearest town, it is about 4km away. It has a
small shop, good butcher, bank, post office and several other
amenities. There are also several restaurants.

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
