Geranio at Le Rocche di Valiano

Geranio is a two floor villa located in the main building of Le Rocche di Valiano. There are another 8 villas, and the owner on the property. It's ideally positioned in the Chianti hills, a short distance from Siena.
Out side this pretty Tuscan villa is a little garden furnished with a table and six chairs, which is shaded by an umbrella. From there garden there are views of the Chianti. The garden is not secluded as other villa gardens and the car park can be seen.
The villa is entered from a stone path into a large, bright living and dining room. On one side there are two large double sofas, while to the other is a wooden dining table with four comfortable chairs. Passing under an arch is a bathroom with shower.
Off the room is a small but adequate kitchen well furnished and equipped with a double sink, gas hobs, fridge with freezer, and a table top oven. Completing the room is a nice wooden table with three chairs.
The sleeping area is on the first floor. At the top of the stairs to the right there is a small bedroom. It is furnished with a modern wood and metal double bed, a wardrobe and single sofabed. The room has a high typical Tuscan ceiling with wooden beams and terracotta tiles.
Next to the bedroom is a bathroom with bathtub and handheld shower. Across the hall is the second double bedroom. This is a larger room than the first. It is furnished with a wooden bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and single sofa bed. This room also has the typical terracotta ceiling with wooden beams.
The double beds cannot be made into twins. The villa cannot accommodated more than 4 people, however should a twin be required the sofabed can be used.

Le Rocche di Valiano is a lovely typical Tuscan farm estate that has been carefully restored into a beautiful property of 9 villas plus the owner's residence. It has a fantastic position about 6km from Siena in the Chianti hills, providing it with excellent access to the city and the main routes to all the Tuscan sights.
On one side there is a large pool in full sun. It is surrounded by sun-beds and umbrellas. Between the pool and the rental villas there is the owner's villa.
From all around the property there are wonderful views of the rolling Chianti hills with winding cypress lined roads and dotted with little estates and villages. The hills are covered with vineyards, olive groves and some forests.
At Le Rocche di Valiano there is a small reception where clients can obtain information and assistance. Due to the layout the villa gardens are not seclude however each villa has it's own private garden in this well maintained hamlet.
Pool Info
The pool is located to the opposite end of the property from the car park. It is positioned below the owner's villa, in a lovely lawn surrounded by incredible views.
There are plenty of sun-beds shaded by umbrellas. It's the perfect place to relax after a day sightseeing. To one side there are roman steps to enter while the other side has metal steps. The pool is 12x6 meters and open from May to September
Nearest town
Siena is the nearest town. Within about 6km there are shops, pharmacy, banks and restaurants in the outer suburbs. The city centre is about 8km away. However within about 5km there is a restaurant.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
