Bianco at La Mandolata

Bianco is one of three pretty first floor villas at La Mandolata. This is a lovely, spacious and luminous villa with typical Tuscan terracotta floors and wooden beams with terracotta tiles on the ceiling.
On entering there is a large lounge with a comfortable white sofa against one wall. In the centre of the room is the wooden dining table with 4 chairs. There are windows on either side, one looks out across the town to the mountains in the distance while the other looks onto the garden.
The kitchen area is in a separate room which opens onto the lounge through a large arch with low wall. It is furnished with an open kitchen unit with gas hobs, small fridge with tiny freezer compartment and a microwave with oven.
The sleeping area is accessed from a corridor off the lounge. There are two double bedrooms. The first has a large wardrobe and en-suite bathroom with shower.
Further along the corridor is a second bathroom with shower. While the second bedroom is at the end. This room is furnished with a wooden wardrobe and has plenty of light from the two windows.
The double beds cannot be made into twins.
Outside space is on the large communal terrace.
Aircon/heating units in rooms paid extra.

Bianco at La Mandolata

La Mandolata is a wonderful property of 5 apartments located in the Versiglia, a lovely coastal area of Tuscany. From here it is possible to walk to the beach, which is about 1km away.
The pool is to one side of the building. It is surrounded by a paved area dotted with sun-bed ideal for soaking up the warm sun. It is a smallish pool, perfect to cool off.
La Mandolata is well positioned just a short walk to shops and restaurants. The property is an old farmhouse restored to a high standard and with modern touches that work well with the typical Tuscan characteristics of the building.
The pretty gardens are of white gravel and lawns dotted with fruit trees. Pampas grass and bamboo are used for hedging giving a modern look to the property that compliments the old Tuscan farmhouse. There is a communal terrace furnished with tables and chairs on which the owners can serve breakfast if requested.
Pool Info
The smallish pool is perfect for a cooling dip after a day at the beach or of sight-seeing. It is surrounded by a lovely terracotta paved sundeck dotted with sun-beds and umbrella.
To one side are a couple of small typical beach huts that can be used to change. From this area of La Mandolata there are views of the Carrara hills with their white marble.
The pool is fenced and has metal steps entering it.
It is open from May to October and is 12x6 metres, and 1.1 to 1.8 metres deep.

In Camaiore Lido there is a wide choice of shops, restaurants and other amenities. The nearest grocery shop and restaurant to La Mandolata is about 500metres away, while a larger supermarket is 2km away.

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
