Il Salariato at Fattoria Armena

Il Salariato is a three bedroom apartment on the first floor within this quiet hamlet. The apartment has a private garden that is accessed down the main stairs. To the right of the building is a lovely open lawn area with wooden table and chairs, barbeque, trees, plants and shrubs and extensive views of the countryside.
Accessed by a stone staircase you enter first in to the large kitchen area where immediately in front of you is a fantastic open fireplace.
Moving past the fireplace you arrive in the kitchen itself with breakfast table and chairs for four, fridge-freezer, oven, cooking hobs, dishwasher and coffee machine.
To the right of the entrance area is the lounge and dining areas. The lounge has two comfortable sofas, a ceiling fan, TV with some satellite channels and a DVD player.
The dining area is to the rear of the lounge and has a nice wooden table and chairs that can seat 10 people.
The first two bedrooms are accessed either side of the large fireplace and share a bathroom. To the left of the fireplace is a bright and airy double room which can be made into a twin on request. On the right of the fireplace is a twin room which can be made up as a double. Both of these bedrooms have direct access to the shared bathroom with shower, WC and basin.
On the other side of the lounge is the entrance to the master bedroom with large en-suite bathroom. The double bed is made from antique wood and is complimented by the wardrobe.
Two windows overlooking the grounds allow for plenty of light and air to reach the room. The en-suite bathroom has a bath with hand-held shower, WC and basin and an alcove area which can be used for storage or as a dressing area. Plenty of light reaches this room through the two windows.
The private garden for Il Salariato is accessed down the main stairs to the apartment. To the right of the building is a lovely open lawn area with wooden table and chairs, barbeque, trees, plants and shrubs and extensive views of the countryside.
All windows have mosquito screens.
The twin rooms can be made up as double beds on request. Rooms will be made up as shown if no request is received in advance.

Fattoria Armena is beautifully located in the Tuscan countryside, surrounded by woodland, olive groves and manicured lawns, this small hamlet is an ideal introduction to Tuscany. Fattoria Armena is located 4km from the town of Buonconvento and is well placed to visit Siena, Montalcino and Pienza which are all within 30 minutes drive.
The large swimming pool (14m x 10m) is found in the well-maintained garden area of the hamlet and has endless views across the Tuscan countryside below. For your comfort, sun loungers and umbrellas are sited on the terrace surrounding the pool. Built in steps lead you gradually in to the shallow area of the pool.
The hamlet has been well restored to retain many of the original features of terracotta tiled floors, sturdy wooden beams on the ceiling and explosed brick walls.
There are just 3 apartments at the hamlet, each with their own private garden areas which ensures a relaxing vacation. The owners live on site and are able to help with any questions you may have.

The swimming pool has enviable views across the rolling countryside below. Woodland, valleys, olive groves and vineyards can be viewed whilst relaxing in and around the pool.
The large swimming pool is 14 metres by 10 metres, at its shallowest it is 80cm deep (near to the entrance steps) and at its deepest it is 1.40 metres.
The swimming pool is open from the beginning of May until the end of September.
Pool towels are provided for your comfort.
Nearest town
4km away from Fattoria Armena is the town of Buonconvento. This is a thriving town with 2 museums, many artisan shops, grocery stores, banks with atm machines, a laundrette, clinic, restaurants and bars to choose from. There is a coop supermarket where you can stock up on any items you need. For leisure there are tennis courts here. Buonconvento is considered one of the most beautiful hamlets in Italy. The name derives from the Latin bonus conventus, meaning "happy, fortunate community".

What can I say but "absolutely awesome!!", thank you all very much.
Being fairly profficient in French and having had many good holidays in Dordogne and the Cote d'Azure, I have to admit to being a little bit nervous about taking the risk with our main summer holiday.
However, I now regret not doing this 10 years ago.
Tuscany was absoutely stunning, the accommodation was first class and the holiday was certainly one of our best ever experiences in mainland Europe.
A big thanks to Lisa for pointing us in the direction of such a wonderful place to stay, and an even bigger thanks to Stefania and Alessandro for making us feel so welcome in their home and in their country.
I would highly recommend the accommodation to anyone looking for a peaceful time yet with access to some lovely places to visit.
I am trying hard to think of some constructive criticism to help you to improve your service offering, however all I can say is keep on doing what you are already doing. It is first class.
My wife is now regularly logging on to your website and looking what date s are free until Christmas. I have a feeling we shall be back in Italy very soon!

I like To Tuscany, partly because it has a tremendous range of villas, and partly because (unlike many companies) it has an excellent website that provides what you really want when choosing a villa.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
