Fico at Casa Forcheri

Fico is a pretty little terraced cottage with a mezzanine floor. The villa is located to the left of the pool and has a wonderful furnished terrace shaded by grape vines. The terrace is lovely and private although it overlooks the pool below.
Entering the villa there is the large living area with warm terracotta floors and a high ceiling of traditional wooden beams. This large spacious and airy room has a kitchen to the far end. It's fully equipped with gas hobs, oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge with small freezer. In front of the kitchen there is a dining table that seats up to 8 people. Also in this living area is a comfortable double sofa and an armchair and a working fireplace.
To one side of the kitchen there is a double bedroom and a bathroom. The bedroom is small but with a high ceiling with wooden beams which make it feel airy and spacious. It is graced with a large window that provides the room with plenty of light. In the room is a built in wardrobe and a chest of drawers. The bathroom is with a tub and has a handheld shower with two fittings, high and low, so good also for showering.
From the large living area there are terracotta stairs with an open cast iron railing that go up to the mezzanine floor above the kitchen area. Here there is a comfortable lounge with two armchairs and a double sofa. There is a TV with satellite and a european DVD player.
Off this room there are two bathrooms each with a shower. Going up some stairs there is a small corridor with access to the upper gardens. Off this there are two bedrooms that can be set up as twins or doubles. Both rooms have lovely large windows providing them with lots of light. Each has a wardrobe and small chest of drawers. The rooms are not large but are comfortable.

Casa Forcheri is a lovely little hamlet with a pretty garden filled with colourful flowers and plants. The peaceful views from the hamlet over the Chianti are wonderful as they cross the rolling vine covered hills onto the small villages that dot the countryside.
The pool is located in a sunny area near the houses. It is surrounded by a paved area with sun-beds and excellent views of the countryside. It's an ideal position to enjoy a relaxing holiday in Tuscany.
There are 3 little houses rented in Casa Forcheri plus the owner's villa. Two of the apartments are in the main building with the owner's villa while the third is a pretty little cottage.
Pool Info
The large pool is located between the cottage and main house. It's nestled in a sunny part of the garden with a large deck of terracotta tiles and flag stone around it. To one side welcoming shade is provided by a large tree. To the other there are open views over the Tuscan countryside.
Around the pool there are sunbeds and pool towels are provided.
The pool is 6x12 metres and 1 to 2 metres deep. It is open from May to September.
Nearest town
La Casa is located only 3km away from the charming town of Radda in Chianti. Today Radda combines the modern day within its medieval surroundings. The area is famous as a wine growing region, and there are a few important wineries in the local area. The town has several shops, restaurants, a post office, doctors and other necessary amenities.

Our accommodation, which cost less than £800 for the week, is in a converted stone farmhouse next to a 12th Century Franciscan chapel. There is a pergola shaded by vines round the back here we quickly settle into a rhythm of eating long pasta suppers while the shadows lengthen.
